Semula Plastic
At Semula, we’re on a mission to rethink how plastic waste is managed and reused. Every step we take is guided by our commitment to creating a positive impact—not just on the environment, but on the way people and businesses approach sustainability. We work with HDPE (Type 2) plastics, collected from our partners, and turn them into high-value materials like sheets, beams, and custom-made products. These materials are then used to craft everything from furniture to wall cladding, each piece unique and handmade.
By upcycling existing plastics, we reduce the demand for new resources, helping to ease the pressure on our planet. To date, we’ve diverted over 2.6 tons of plastic waste—the equivalent of more than 26,000 two-litre milk bottles—from Singapore’s landfills. But our work doesn’t stop there. We aim to close the loop on plastic waste by creating a circular economy, where discarded materials find new purpose, over and over again.

Our Process
At Semula, the journey from waste to resource is a hands-on, thoughtful process. We start by collecting clean HDPE (Type 2) plastics from our community of partners. These plastics are shredded into flakes, melted down, and transformed into high-value materials. The result? Sheets, beams, and custom components that serve as the foundation for a wide range of uses.
Our materials aren’t just practical—they carry a story. Each piece reflects the care, creativity, and commitment that go into reducing waste and giving plastic a second life.
